Exciting plans for The Stonehouse at Watermouth Cove

We’re delighted to share some exciting news from Watermouth Cove. Plans are underway to transform and extend the Stonehouse, creating an even more spectacular space for couples celebrating their wedding day on the North Devon coast. Inspired by the breathtaking beauty of Watermouth Cove, the refurbished venue has been thoughtfully designed to enhance the guest experience while making the most of its unrivalled coastal setting.

Already one of the most popular spaces at Watermouth Cove, the Stonehouse will continue to offer a beautifully relaxed setting for wedding breakfasts of up to 125 guests and evening celebrations of up to 200 guests. However, the new plans introduce a range of exciting features designed to create a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor celebrations

At the heart of the redesign is a stunning new terrace overlooking the cove and dramatic surrounding cliffs. Complete with comfortable seating and uninterrupted sea views, the terrace will provide the perfect place for guests to relax with a drink, enjoy photographs, and soak up the atmosphere throughout the day and evening. Expansive bi-fold glass doors will connect the dining space directly to the terrace, allowing celebrations to flow effortlessly between indoors and out.

Inside, couples can look forward to a dedicated dancefloor designed for unforgettable evening entertainment, with plenty of space for live bands and DJs. A new cocktail lounge will create a stylish and sociable area where guests can gather, enjoy their favourite drinks, and take in the stunning surroundings. Rustic reclaimed tables, soft lighting, and panoramic coastal views will combine to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly complements the natural beauty of the venue.

While we’re incredibly excited about what’s to come, couples getting married at Watermouth Cove in 2026 can rest assured that their wedding plans will remain completely unaffected. The Stonehouse transformation is scheduled for completion by March 2027, ready in time for a spectacular summer season.
