We fix your venue hire fee to those current to the date of your booking. However, food & drink prices may rise due to stock costs and inflation
Your prices will not fall in the event that the VAT rate is lowered as the majority of our costs and overheads (such as food stocks/staff/insurance/rates etc) are not VAT reclaimable.
Yes, we require a £1,000 security deposit. This MUST be paid at no later than 7 days before arrival. Funds will only be taken if damage has been caused or items are missing
We offer our wedding venues year-round. Winter weddings are very popular, we also have an indoor ceremony ‘The Woodland Barn’ and reception venues you can use.
The Bar in the Snug will be open an hour before your ceremony on your wedding day. Guests can relax and purchase drinks whilst they wait. The Beach House bar opens when your Wedding Breakfast begins (Extra times will be agreed with the couple when the Event Plan is agreed)
We’re afraid you cannot, however we have multiple drinks packages to suit all budgets.
If you have your heart set on getting married in a Church, you can still book your wedding stay and reception at Watermouth Cove. This means you arrive the day before and relax here by the pools before the big day, you can wake up and get ready in The Penthouse and make your way to the Church. Once your service is completed all your guests can return to Watermouth and enjoy your reception.
Yes, it is! This includes use of our private cove, two outdoor heated swimming pools (from April-September), all our accommodation, parking, and our beautiful grounds.
You will be able access the venue from 2pm. Access will not be granted before this time as our staff will still be working to get everything ready for you.
If you choose The Midweek or The Weekend Package, check out is at 10.00am.
Music will be turned off outside at 11pm. If you choose to have a Band/DJ, they will have to finish at 11.30pm. We will stop serving drinks at 12 midnight & allow for twenty minutes drinking up time. The Wedding Reception Venue will close, including the patio area at 12:30am.
Yes, we are very dog friendly. Dogs are allowed at your ceremony and at the reception! They are also allowed in most of the accommodation. They must be always kept on a lead.
Our accommodation holds up to 55 people. We also have a camping field if some of your guests wish to camp. If this is something you’re thinking about, please discuss it with us as we will need to accommodate this by opening other facilities. As for our Reception & Ceremony Venues – we can take a maximum of 125 guests (150 for Evening).
We have a minimum number of 50 adult guests at our weddings.
Unfortunately, this isn’t possible. Our company runs your bar for you – we have more than 25 years of experience in the licensed hospitality industry.
Yes, you are able to hire a band/DJ. Our cut off time for music is 11:30pm. They would need to bring 2 x XLR cables to hook up to our sound system.
Live music must be discussed with Watermouth beforehand, e.g., timings, locations etc. We do ask live music to be finished outside by 9pm out of respect for our neighbours. We accept outdoor singers, saxophonist etc, however bands & DJ’s must always be inside.
Sorry we do not allow parties to supply alcoholic favours.
We do not allow guests to supply their own food. Our in-house catering team provide many different options and are always more than happy to create bespoke packages to fit your requirements.
We do not allow bar tabs. Drinks must be paid for at the time of ordering, at the bar. This can be done at The Beach House or Snug by cash or debit/credit card payment or Apple Pay. We also accept Contactless card payments.
Yes, most definitely, we ask that you have names on the front and on back food choices and any dietary requirements. If you have young children attending don’t forget to include highchairs in the table numbers, as they take up a whole space.
In our opinion the best time for your ceremony is 1.00pm or 2.00pm depending on how many are in your wedding party (take into consideration makeup & hair timings for large groups)
Zoe & Georgia will be your designated point of contact from the moment you view Watermouth, to the moment you leave as a newly married couple. They will work with you to create a personalised Event Plan so that we know what your hopes and expectations are for your wedding day. Event Plans will be sent out at least six months before your wedding and will need to be confirmed 3 months before the big day.

There is also a small private car park next to our entrance for your guests to use if they need to park as close to the venue areas as possible.
Please make sure you book taxis ahead of time. Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are small villages (we are situated around 5 minutes’ drive between the two of them) and they book up very quickly. We suggest booking in advance, if you would like recommendations on taxi companies, please contact us.
