FAQ

The accommodation is built into the venue price in The Getaway Wedding Package. If you do not wish to use the accommodation this is fine but there will not be a deduction on pricing. We would suggest looking into The Day Wedding Package, if you don’t need the accommodation, as this package includes no accommodation.

Please contact with us to discuss wedding availability. Visit our Contact Page and we can answer any availability questions for you.

Yes, we require a £1,000 security deposit. This MUST be paid at no later than 14 days before arrival. Funds will only be taken if damage has been caused or items are missing. For Day Weddings with no accommodation booked ,this price is reduced to £500.

We offer our wedding venues year-round. Winter weddings are very popular, we also have indoor ceremony ‘The Woodland Barn’ and reception venues you can use.

The only day you cannot get married is Christmas Day. Any other day, you are able to get married at any time.

Our bar opens from 6pm. The Pay Bar in the Snug will be open an hour before your guests arrive on your wedding day to relax in whilst they wait.

I’m afraid you cannot, however we have multiple drinks packages to suit all budgets.

If you have your heart set on getting married in a Church, you can still book your wedding stay and reception at Watermouth Cove. This means you arrive the day before and relax here by the pools before the big day, you can wake up and get ready in your Bridal Suite and make your way to the Church. Once you are done all your guests can come back to Watermouth and enjoy your reception.

Yes, it is! This includes use of our private cove, two outdoor heated swimming pools (from April-September), all of our accommodation, parking and our beautiful grounds.

Accommodation will be ready from 3pm or 12:30pm, depending on which package you book. However, you are more than welcome to arrive and start setting up from 12pm onwards.

If you choose to have a Band/DJ sadly they will have to finish at midnight. This is also the time that our bar offers last drinks. We (will allow for a half an hour drink up time before we) close the Wedding Reception Venue at 12:30am.

That is no problem at all. We have directions to our venue on our website for you and your guests.

Yes, we are very dog friendly. Dogs are allowed at your ceremony and at the reception! They are also allowed in most of the accommodation. However, they are not allowed to be unattended at any point, especially in accommodation. If you are wanting to hire a dog sitter, or someone to take them out for the day, we highly recommend South West Walkies. A link to their website and contact details can be found on here

Our accommodation holds up to 61 people. We also have a fully serviced field if some of your guests wish to camp at an additional cost. If this is something you’re thinking about, please discuss it with us as we will need to accommodate this by opening other facilities. As for our reception venue – The Beach House, we can take a maximum of 100 guests.

We have a minimum of 40 guests for our weddings.

Unfortunately, this isn’t possible. Our company runs your bar for you – we have had more than 25 year’s experience in the licensed hospitality industry.

We have a sounds system in The Beach House, the main reception venue, that can be used for both indoors and outdoors. This sound system is also linked to our outside heated swimming pool area for you to enjoy during the day, as well as the nearest toilets.

Yes, you are able to hire a band/DJ. Our cut off time for the band is 12:00am.

We do not allow guests to supply their own food. It is a large part of a wedding which is why we have an in-house catering team at Watermouth. They provide many different options and are always more than happy to create bespoke packages to fit your requirements.

We do not allow bar tabs. Drinks must be paid for at the time of ordering, at the bar. This can be done at The Beach House  by cash or debit/credit card payment or Apple Pay. We also accept Contactless card payments.

Yes, we do. However, it must be biodegradable.

Yes, you can. You are free to bring any decorations you would like to decorate the venue.

Our rustic banquet style tables are beautiful and look great without table clothes, however if you wished to have them you are more than welcome to bring some of your own.

We do not allow fireworks.

Sorry but we do not allow paper lanterns.

You are more than welcome to dress the tables anyway you like provided they do not get damaged/stained.

Smoking is not permitted indoors. However, you are able to smoke outside wherever you wish.

Parking isn’t a problem here. We have parking for around 50 cars in the main field area for day/evening guests to use. There is a designated parking bay outside most of the accommodation for your guests staying overnight to use. There is also a small car park next to our entrance for your guest to use if they need to park as close to the venue areas as possible.

Please make sure you book taxis ahead of time. Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are a small village (we are situated around 5 minutes’ drive between the two of them) and they book up very quickly. We suggest booking in advance, if you would like recommendations on taxi companies please contact us.

We require a £1,500 non-refundable deposit to secure your booking, 50% of the total balance is due 6 months before the wedding date, then finally the remainder is due 8 weeks before.

If you would like to change your wedding date within one month of booking this is no problem. If it has been longer than a month since you booked it will be treated as a wedding cancellation. This is outlined clearly in our Terms and Conditions. Any new wedding date booked with us would be charged at the current tariff for that date.

Yes, you must have your own wedding insurance to book a wedding with us.

The two heated swimming pools are open from the beginning of April to the end of September.

Sorry we are unable to offer Late Check-outs.
